Artist Statement |
I was given a Casper the Ghost comic book when I was about 6 years old. I couldn't read then, but I loved looking at the pictures. At some point I came across a panel in the comic book that had a sailing ship and I picked up a pencil and I began to draw it. When I stopped I was amazed that I could do that. I had to show someone and I ran into my mothers bedroom to show her. She seemed mildly impressed. I was hooked! And I've been doing art one way or another ever since.
I am self taught in all the techniques and mediums that I use to create my art. I have no degrees or awards. What I do have is a love of art and the process of creating it. My definition of art is the end result of an original act of creativity. The fact that I have no formal training allowed me the freedom to explore and create without any of the artistic dogma of the Arts academia.
Originally this site was devoted to my stained glass work, but I have since added 3 new pages consisting of my illustrations, paintings and drawings.
I hope you will enjoy viewing my work and that you will be inspired to create a work of art of your own. The only requirement to doing real art is a love of what you are doing, for without the ingredient of love your work will have no soul. And, one more thing. Never compare what you do to what someone else does.
Be free and be true to yourself.
